About the Artist
Artist
Passionate about painting since the age of 3, Taran Mathur is an independent, self-taught artist who has played with various art mediums and strokes.
His experimental artwork caught his school-teacher’s eye, and at the age of 11, his art was displayed at the iconic Royal College of Art.
Since then, there has been no turning back for Taran.
This online presence led to him being approached by the New Artist Fair, which resulted in his first art exhibition in 2016. The exhibition was a resounding success, where people from all walks of life appreciated his art – and a majority of his works sold.
He has participated in the Pratham Art Exhibition at the Nehru Centre as well as at several Pratham Galas. He has also participated in the City of London School Art Show 2018. In 2019 Taran was part of the ArtBaho exhibition in Barcelona. In April Taran's art was showcased in London at The Holy Art Gallery as part of the Duotone exhibition 2024. Taran’s most recent exhibition was with ITSLIQUID group in Venice as part of the Anima Mundi.
Taran’s art has travelled internationally and has been very well-received in England, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Singapore, Dubai, America and India.
Taran has used his art to support charitable institutions. By auctioning his art, he has raised substantial amounts for charities such as
The Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis USA and Pratham – a charity supporting underprivileged children in India, to name a few. More recently his latest artwork was auctioned at The American School London Gala.
The magazine, The India Link has covered his art in their publications.
Taran is a graduate with a business degree from Hult International University, Boston. He has now set up his own company Abstracttaran Ltd. His paintings are filled with vibrant colours, dynamic motion, and profound emotion.
It is no secret that art has the power to bring joy.
